AUSSIE QUAKE SERVERS
IInet- Perth Server that is very fast. Grappling hook and a few new weapons are available. CTF (capture the flag) is also available. Visit iinet's internet page at www.iinet.com.au

Omen- Another Aussies server that is a bit slower but has a lot of kool weapons and the hook as well as runes for more varied gameplay. Visit their site at www.omen.com.au

CONNECTING TO QUAKE
Got a copy of Quake and a connection to the internet but dont know how to play? Quake is one of the few games around that let you play it over the net for free! Its quite simple to connect to a server and start your game.

*Connect to the internet through your ISP
*Start up Quake by running the Q95.bat file (not the quake.exe !)
*While in Quake enter the multiplayer menu and choose TCP/IP
*Enter the Quake server address (ie: quake.iinet.com.au) in the space provided
*Hit enter and it will connect, its that simple!

Many quake servers have special additions from the normal game. These include new weapons and things like hooks. Typing help-server in the console of most quake servers will bring up a pile of commands that will give you access to these. 

QUAKEWORLD
Got a copy of Quake and want some more action over the net? Then check out QuakeWorld which enables you to connect to a whole range of servers each with their own varied Gameplay. To play QW you need the patch. The patch comes with Gamespy that will tell you every server you can play.
